SBI Holdings is partnering with German stock exchange owner Boerse Stuttgart Group in Europe and Asia to develop “"a truly global end-to-end ecosystem for digital assets, utilizing blockchain technology”, according to a report from CoinDesk. Alexander Höptner, chairman of Boerse Stuttgart's management board, said:
“Asia and Europe are the fastest growing markets for digital assets at the moment. Besides the exchange of knowledge and technology, possible fields of collaboration include the cross issuance and listing of digital assets, trading and brokerage as well as the creation of the first global custody bridge.”
South Korean telecom giant KT Corporation (NYSE:KT) has been selected as the operating agent for a blockchain-based local currency in the city of Busan, according to local outlet dongA. Called “Dongbaekjeon”, the currency will be stored on a card and is “issued by Busan City to revitalize Busan's local economy and ease the management burden of small business”. It will launch on December 30.
Crypto exchange giant Coinbase has won a patent for a system allowing crypto payments via email, according to a report from Cointelegraph. An excerpt from the patent outline explains:
