GBT Technologies Inc. (OTC PINK:GTCH) has filed a provisional patent application for Integrated Circuits automatic design rule correction system and method, which aims to protect IP for automatic correction of manufacturing process geometrical design rules violations in microchips layout data. The company’s CTO Danny Rittman said:

"This type of system is a significant productivity enhancer tool within IC's design flow and will majorly reduce the global layout design time and chip's overall time to market factor. In addition, microchips will be able to be made smaller, which increases the silicon yield enabling much higher profit margin. Project's design time will shrink and fabless IC design firms will be able to design more advanced chips in less time. We strongly believe that this technology will make a major impact in this arena and now working on a nonprovisional application as also on future development of such commercial EDA tools.”

IBM (NYSE:IBM) is announcing new Watson and Cloud-based technologies to enhance the highly-personalised, fan experience available on Wimbledon.com and the Wimbledon apps along with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC). This includes IBM Power Rankings, a Watson AI-powered analysis of player performance, and Pre-Match Insights featuring an 'In the Media' section that leverages IBM Watson Discovery to create a custom news archive by leveraging natural language processing (NLP). A report published by Technavio finds that the global market for AI in Manufacturing will grow by $7.87 billion and register a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 28 percent from 2021-2025.
