A new report from Technavio finds that the global AI Chips market will grow by $36.6 billion USD by 2023. The report, titled: Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chips Market 2019-2023, also projects a compound annual growth rate of 39 percent over the forecast period. Regionally, 41 percent of the projected growth is expected to come from the Americas, and the report emphasizes the increasing use of AI chips in data centres as a key driver of growth. The research also highlights the connection of the AI and IoT markets. The Associated Press quotes a senior analyst at Technavio:
"The demand for IoT devices has been increasing due to the growing focus on smart city projects and the rising implementation of automation in homes and enterprises. Consequently, the market participants have been working in collaboration to develop software and hardware to integrate AI technology in IoT devices."

IBM (NYSE:IBM) has co-authored with Goldcorp Inc. (NYSE:GG) a new AI solution to improve predictability for gold mineralization. Mark Fawcett, a Partner with IBM Canada explained the technology:
"Applying the power of IBM Watson to these unique challenges differentiates us in the natural resources industry. We are using accelerated computing power for complex geospatial queries that can harmonize geological data from an entire site on a single platform. This is the first time this solution has been ever used, which makes this project all the more significant."
Nuance Communications, Inc. (NasdaqGS:NUAN) introduced radiology reporting platform PowerScribe One, which integrates access to artificial intelligence-powered (AI) diagnostic and decision-support tools to measurably improve workflow efficiency and accuracy. According to the press release, PowerScribe One is "purpose-built to address inefficiencies, inconsistent recommendations and failed follow-up", and "benefits from the latest advances in AI such as natural language understanding, image characterization, speech recognition, intelligent exchange of structured data and cloud technology".
