IBM Garage AI and Hybrid Cloud Used by Over 500 Companies Worldwide and Accenture Wins Quantum Computing Machine Learning Patent
Stocks discussed: (NYSE:IBM) (NYSE:ACN)

IBM (NYSE:IBM) has revealed that more than 500 businesses around the globe are powering their digital reinventions with IBM Garage hybrid cloud and AI. Mark Foster, Senior Vice President, IBM Services and Global Business Services, commented:

"For the incumbents of the world, who we believe have a major advantage in their proprietary data and decades of industry specific expertise, the ability to adopt hybrid cloud strategies and quickly shift to new ways of working will allow them to beat the so-called digital disruptors of the last decade. The IBM Garage is our approach to help them drive purposeful innovation and transformational change at the speed of a start-up and at the scale of an enterprise - fast tracking their journeys to become Cognitive Enterprises enabled by the hybrid cloud."

Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has been granted a U.S. patent for a “quantum computing machine learning module”. The module “trains artificial intelligence (AI) models to determine when and how computational tasks would be best handled by quantum computing versus classical computing methods”. Athina Kanioura, Accenture’s chief analytics officer and global head of Applied Intelligence, said:

“Clients look to Accenture to help drive innovation in their organizations, and we are committed to embracing this opportunity at every turn. Working to advance applications for AI has been a huge focus for our team, and quantum computing presents yet another avenue for how we can use AI to maximize value.”

Global AI in Healthcare to See 40.48% CAGR from 2019-2027

A report from Research and Markets finds that the global AI in healthcare market is projected to see a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 40.48 percent from 2019 to 2027. An excerpt from the report description reads:

The major factors driving the global AI in the healthcare market are the increasing usage of big data, the growing importance of precision medicine, widening applications of AI in genomics and rising need of real-time monitoring systems. Moreover, the positive outlook of healthcare wearables industry, rapid growth in robotics and the integration of software with AI are some of the opportunities that are expected to increase the market growth in the coming years. Nevertheless, the lack of standardization of healthcare data and security & privacy issues are top reasons challenging the overall growth of the market across the globe.
