Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:GOLD) reports that Kibali in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and the largest gold mine in Africa, has started strong in 2022 and “is on track to equal its 2021 production this year.” In 2021, according to the press release, Kibali “replaced the reserves depleted by mining and its prolific KZ trend of orebodies continues to deliver opportunities for significant open pit and underground growth.” Barrick’s President and CEO, Mark Bristow, said:

“Barrick is continuing to invest in the DRC, not only by developing the many new growth opportunities which are extending Kibali’s life, but also through pursuing greenfields exploration and other opportunities across the country as we search for our next world-class discovery.”

Golden Minerals Company (NYSEAmerican:AUMN) has shared its financial results and business highlights for the full fiscal year ending December 31, 2021. Highlights from the year include revenue of $25.6 million – up from $5.6 million in 2020, and a Q4 2021 revenue of $9.5 million. The company also achieved production of 14,400 ounces of gold and 59,900 ounces of silver from the Rodeo mine, where a a 5,648-meter, 82-hole drill program was also completed.

Phenom Resources Corp. (TSXV:PHNM) has announced new vanadium intercepts from the 2020 and 2021 drilling during the evaluation of the gold system on its flagship Carlin Gold-Vanadium Project on the Carlin Gold Trend in Nevada. The company’s President and CEO, Paul Cowley, commented:

"These new vanadium intercepts are noteworthy reflecting multiple opportunities to expand the vanadium mineralization northernly, easterly and at depth. From the shallow intercepts, hole RC20-05 returned a >50% thicker intercept to its nearest previous hole, and hole RC21-13A, 100m north of the vanadium resource outer limits, returned 24.4m of 0.71% V2O5."

Silver Dollar Resources Inc. (CSE:SLV) has posted initial exploration results for the fall and winter drilling program completed at the La Joya Silver project in the state of Durango, Mexico. Highlights include Hole NOR-21-002, which returned 131.2 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent (AgEq) over 5.37 metres, and Hole NOR-21-004 that returned 1,590 g/t AgEq over 3.00 m, and 2,369 g/t AgEq over 1.01 m within a broader intersection of 361.8 g/t AgEq over 8.37 m. The company’s President, Mike Romanik, said:

"We are encouraged by these initial results and eagerly await the remaining assays, particularly for the wide interval of 40+ metres of visible sulphide mineralization in hole NOR-22-008. Drill core from this hole, that targeted mineralization along the contact between carbonate rocks and a felsic intrusive, looks very promising. The drill rig was left on site, and we expect the next phase of drilling to resume before month-end."
