On yesterday’s Crypto Corner, it appeared that Bitcoin (BTC) had cooled a bit from its recent bullish behaviour, as it fluctuated between $27,000 and $26,000. However, as the day wore on, Bitcoin regained its momentum, which culminated in yet another new all-time high of about $28,550, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Catching up on the beleaguered XRP, it has actually rallied roughly 14 percent in the last 24 hours, and is trading for around $0.22 at press time. Ripple, for those who may not be aware, is being sued by the SEC, resulting in the delisting of XRP from major crypto exchanges.

Crypto payments firm NetCents Technology Inc. (CSE:NC) has announced an increase in its merchant base, having signed 330 merchants “in the business to business (B2B), luxury retail, and high-ticket value retail industries,” this month. Clayton Moore, Founder and CEO of NetCents, said:

"It's great to see the evolution of NetCents and where it's grown. We built the system to be agnostic so that anyone with a wallet can use our platform wherever they are in the world. What I'm finding interesting as the Company grows is that we see an increase in users coming directly to NetCents and signing up. We've seen 650 this month alone. Their transaction sizes are significant, which is driving our monthly growth."

Last week, Crypto Corner reported that SkyBridge Capital, the investment firm founded by Anthony Scaramucci, has launched its own Bitcoin fund with an investment of $25 million. According to a report from CoinDesk today, SkyBridge has in fact already invested $182 million in Bitcoin. The report quotes Scaramucci from a recent CNBC interview:

“There are still skeptics out there and that’s why I think we’re in the first inning. But after the research we’ve done … and given the monetary supply and the global central banking coordination right now, this will be a very strong asset class over the next decade.”

Israeli outlet Calcalist reports that fintech and crypto trading firm eToro is targeting an IPO for the second quarter of 2021 with a valuation of $5 billion. eToro, according to the report, doubled its revenue to $500 million and gained five million new customers in 2020. The company is in talks with investment banking giant Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) to lead the Nasdaq listing.
